Campus, Accommodation, and Food

Enrollment Dates and Scholarships
● Fall semester: start in September
● Spring semester: start in January
Applications are accepted throughout the year until places are filled.
JCU offers academic and financial scholarships that can cover up to 50% of tuition.
Special scholarships are available for students with excellent performance, as well as for international students from certain countries, including the Balkan region.

Summer School
John Cabot University (JCU) is an American university in Rome, located in the historic city district of Trastevere, known for its international environment, small groups and multicultural campus. Summer programs are intended for undergraduate students from around the world who want to earn academic credits during a shorter stay in Rome, improve their language skills and get to know Italian culture.

ABOUT THE COURSE AND TEACHING
● There are two 5-week summer sessions (Summer I and Summer II) during the summer.
● During each session, students can take 3 or 6 academic credits (1 or 2 courses).
● Courses are in English (except Italian language courses) and cover broad areas: art history, business, communications, economics, engineering, literature, history, mathematics, political science, psychology, studio arts and more.

CERTIFICATE
● Students receive recognized academic credits for the courses they complete, which can be used within their university studies.
● Completion of the course is confirmed by a grade and practical outcomes. (JCU does not publicly state “Certificate of Completion” for all courses, but credits and academic performance are recognized through the university system.)

REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION
● Proof of student status (currently enrolled student) for METU Summer School.
● Probably a motivation letter, transcript of grades, proof of English language (if necessary) – although for the English Communication course, English is of course the main language of instruction.
BASIC INFORMATION
● Learning in an international community with students from various countries.
● Developing business and entrepreneurial skills through real examples, projects, and company visits.
● Cultural and social activities, while enjoying Budapest (excursions, beach, tours) which enable personal growth and relaxation.
TRANSPORT AND ORGANIZATION
● Transport to Budapest and back is not included.
● Within the city, the program usually includes public transport for the duration of the program.
