Master's and Doctoral Studies – Options and Programs

HTL does not offer doctoral studies (PhD). The focus is on practical bachelor's (3 years) and master's programs (1 year, except MBA 2 years), with mandatory paid internships and flexible modalities (on-campus in Barcelona, virtual, or online). All programs are in English, university-recognized, with emphasis on hospitality, tourism, business, and innovative topics.

Spain is one of the most popular destinations for studying in Europe thanks to its warm Mediterranean climate, rich culture, beautiful architecture, and affordable cost of living compared to other Western European countries. Barcelona, with its beaches, Gaudí's masterpieces like Sagrada Família, vibrant art scene, and international atmosphere, represents an ideal student city – full of energy, events, sports activities, and networking opportunities.

Faculty and Reputation

HTL International School of Hospitality, Tourism and Languages is a private specialized school with over 15 years of experience, focused on practical education in hospitality, tourism, business, and languages. According to independent sources like Higher Education Review, the school is ranked among the Top 10 Hospitality Management Colleges in Europe 2023, Top 10 Promising Business Schools in Spain 2024, and Top 5 Career-Shaping Hotel Management Institutes in Europe 2025 (by Education Eureka).

Although not a classic university with public accreditations (diplomas are private), the school is accredited by the city councils of Barcelona, Madrid, and Valencia, FUNDAE (Spanish Foundation for Employment), and Instituto Cervantes as a center for SIELE Spanish language exams. Collaborations include ERASMUS+ projects of the European Commission, NIC International College in Japan, and other industry partners.

Student reviews are mostly positive – praising the practical approach, experienced lecturers from the real sector, organized after-class activities (hotel visits, international fairs, excursions), and high success rates: 99% of students get paid internships, 90% academic success, and 95% visa success. Many highlight that the programs quickly lead to employment, with real-life examples and career support.

However, there are also criticisms – some non-EU students report issues with visas and refunds, and warnings that diplomas are not university-recognized throughout Spain or abroad (suitable for practice and career in the industry, but not for further academic advancement).
